Why can’t I update every item in a profile?

The web content team only has direct access to certain elements of the profiles.

Why do Appointments and Promotions and Medical Staff Services control and manage specific information?

  • Ensures that information is properly vetted and approved.
  • Maintains consistency and upholds institutional standards.

How long does it take for changes to profiles to appear on the web site?

Changes made to information in Sinai Central and the databases managed by Appointments and Promotions and Medical Staff Services are live on the site the next day.

Why is a particular doctor not on the website?

Many reasons exists why a doctor is not on the website.  It often indicates that one of the three core databases (HR,A&P or Cactus) does not have a record in each core database.   Sinai Central rejects doctors from being included on the website if his or her records can not be found in all databases.

Why is this doctor still on the site?

A PSM-100 needs to be completed and Appointments and Promotions and Medical Staff Services need to be notified of a change of status.

Appointments and Promotions forwards the information to Human Resources.

Why can't we submit our own head shots?

We aim to maintain consistency with data and photos that appear on the web site.

Can we use special characters in the profiles?

Limited use currently. Plans are underway to expand use through profile content.
