Granting Access to Funds in Your Department (written)
Departmental administrators are designated as the Administrator or Owner for many funds in their departments. As the Administrator or Owner of a fund, you can assign access rights to other users.

Two Methods of Controlling Access
As a Departmental Administrator or Departmental Manager, you have access to Sinai Central's "Dept Admin" menu. From this menu, you control access to funds two ways:
- By User.
- When you control access to funds by user, you first select a Sinai Central user from your department. Then, you grant or deny access to the funds in your department for that user. This is most useful when you need to give a user access to many funds.
- By Fund.
- When you control access to funds by fund, you first select a fund from your department. Then, you select all of the users to whom you want to grant access. This is most useful when you need to give many users access to one fund.
Assigning Access Rights by User
- From the Sinai Central main menu, select Finance.
- From the Finance application menu, select Dept Admin.
- From the drop-down list, select your department and then click the Select button. In our example, the administrator is from department 071.
- From the Department Admin menu bar on the left, select User Admin.
- Search for and select the user to whom you want to assign access.
- From the menu on the left, below the user's name, select FUNDS.

- The user's record displays, showing you which funds the user can access. In the example below, the user is an administrator for a fund in department 2943. Notice that the administrator who is working in the system cannot change this user's access to that fund. This is because the administrator does not belong to department 2943, and so cannot set access rights for funds from that department. However, the administrator can change access for the second fund, which is from department 071.

- To change the user's access to a fund, select an access right from the drop-down list next to the fund and then click the Set button.
- To add a fund to the user's access list:
- Select the Add fund button.
- From the drop-down list of funds, select one.
- From the drop-down list of rights, make a selection.
- Select the Add button.
